Making a Run
Well our team has been able to pick it up a little bit since my last entry.  We have a long road trip coming up which will decide our season in my eyes.  My fiancé is also leaving town after staying here in Rome and following us on our road trips for the last month and a half.

New Faces
A lot has happened since my last entry.  I had a scoreless inning streak snapped in Charleston followed by my worst 3 starts in secession all season.  I had a decent 2 run in 6 inning start sandwiched by my worst outings of the season.   My fiancé's family saw me pitch the better of the three games and it was nice to see the future in-laws

Dropping a line
My fiancé, three of my teammates and one of their girlfriends took advantage of the day off and went on a fishing charter in the Charleston harbor.  It was a good break from the field catching red fish and just being about to be out in the sun not on the field.

What a Blast
The all star game and festivities were awesome.   The 2 day celebration started with a golf tournament in the morning of the first day followed by a dinner cruise that night.  The boat had plenty of food and deserts to go around as we cruised the Charleston Harbor.

Shining Bright
A lot has gone on since my last entry.  Chipper Jones made a rehab start before his return to the Atlanta Braves in May.  He drew a sold out crowd to the Rome Stadium that night.  After that game, Chipper left us a Major League spread consisting of ribs, garlic potatoes, and the works in the clubhouse.

Rome Braves Struggling
After that the morale of the team seemed to hit rock bottom.  We were losing to teams we shouldn't have, and nothing seemed to go right for our team.  When our bats were on our pitching lack, and visa versa, when our pitching put up zeros, so was our offense.

No better job!
Our team has been struggling the past few weeks, but we have heated up in the latest road trip.  We lost a tough game where we made up a 4 run deficit in the bottom of the 9th only to lose in the next inning.

Settling In
As the season progresses, I feel like I am settling in a little more.  I've thrown 4 times since my last entry, 2 starts and 2 relief appearances. In the first relief appearance I went 4 innings giving up one run and earning my first win of the season.

Jake gets his first taste
Well I got my first taste of A ball these last 2 weeks, and so far I am doing ok.  Our team consists of 7 starters so for some of us we are using a piggy back method.  So my first time throwing I did not start but came in relief and it is a little different of a feeling coming out of the pen than starting the game.
