Josh Bonifay
Pittsburgh Pirates
Josh BonifayIn 2002 Josh experienced his finest offensive season of his four year professional career. Bonifay led the Carolina League in home runs (26) and runs batted in (102); while placing fifth in batting at .307 and doubles with 26. Josh demonstrated versatility by playing both second base and left field. The six-foot right-handed swinging Bonifay is the son of former Pirates GM, Cam Bonifay.

B-Ball Gods strike
Well, I thought baseball was easier than this, but the baseball gods put me back in my place in a hurry.

Presidential Streak
Over the last twenty years, I have had the pleasure of meeting a number of famous people. While my father was the general manager of the Pittsburgh Pirates, I got to chill with some of the games best players. During his tenure with the Pirates, Barry Bonds, Andy Van Slyke, and Bobby Bonilla were the players that I liked to talk to the most.

Deep Thoughts...
Whoever invented this game had to be the most unsympathetic person ever. I can't think of anyone in there right mind who can come up with a game where you fail 70 percent of the time and you’re an all-star. And where did he come up with the rules? Why 4 balls and 3 strikes?

The Zone
The highs and lows of baseball have never been more evident to me than the last 2 1/2 weeks.  Over the past couple of weeks, hitting a baseball has never seemed more easy.

Palmer keeps Curve together
During the course of a baseball season, almost everyone plays through certain amounts of pain due to minor injuries. This year has been no different for me and my teammates.

Off to First
This offseason, I was preparing to play the outfield but now things have changed. Two weeks ago, my manager Tony Beasley approached me about playing firstbase.

The Anthem, a time to say thanks
Hello again baseball fans. The opening two weeks of the season are an exciting time for all baseball players. The smell of hotdogs and hamburgers, the sound of the fans screaming your name or heckling you when your on the road.

It's Over Already
It's hard to imagine another year in the bag but we are one day away from the end of the season. I felt like we just started the season and we should be playing for a few more months.

Bad Stretch
During the course of the year a team will struggle on offense and defense resulting in a miserable couple of weeks. For much of the season we have avoided that -- until the last 21 games.

Nice Break
Baseball is the only game you play every day and for months at a time without a day off. Sometimes your body needs not one day but a couple of days to chill out and relax.

Road Master
Traveling in the game of baseball has been a constant for every team including the minor leagues. Major league teams enjoy the comfort of a chartered plane and their own seat. Minor leaguers enjoy the long bus rides from small town to small town on a bus with two players to a seat.

Delay with rain on the way
This spring has been a long one for a lot of people but especially for baseball teams. The weather has not been a major factor during my first three years of professional baseball but this year has been awful.

Not feeling it at home
The past two weeks the Curve has seen tremendous success. We took 3 straight series from the Binghamton Mets, New Haven Ravens, and then the Mets again.

Keep it Simple
My career has been filled with many ups and downs and these past two weeks have not been any different. The last two weeks have been really exciting and a pain in the tail also. I know as a baseball player you will fail a lot more than you succeed but it is tough to accept that part of the game.

Tough Times
Baseball is a game of failure. The best players fail in this game 70 percent of the time and they are considered All-stars.

Solid Beginning
The season has opened and I'm really excited about the possibilities of this years squad. Our team is made up of lots of minor league free agents and 12 players from our championship team in Lynchburg.
